Gold jewellery stolen during bus journey

MALAPPURAM: Gold jewellery which costs around Rs 7 lakhs was stolen from the handbag of a woman during a bus journey at Changaramkulam. Juwairiya, 26, wife of Shafi of Mookkuthala, complained to the police that she had lost 30 sovereigns of gold in a minibus. She travelled from Madathipadam to Mana Padi in a minibus. She had reportedly carried her child in one hand and the bag containing the jewellery in the other hand. She told the police that she had carried the jewellery in the bag as she thought it was safer than leaving it at home. She found the jewellery stolen when she got off the bus. The police searched the bus and questioned the workers.
