Kidnapped youth released after transferring land

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Police Thursday registered a case in connection with kidnapping of a youth, whose mother was forced to sign a sale agreement of their land as ransom for his release. Police said a car used by the miscreants for the crime was also seized. The youth was released after signing the agreement by his mother, who reached here from Kolkatta. It was also reported that the youth filed a complaint earlier with the police that he was facing a threat from land mafia. The youth's car, abandoned by miscreants after he was kidnapped, was seized by the police on July 17.
