Mani for increase in pension age

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The government cannot go forward without increasing the pension age of government employees, said Finance Minister K M Mani in the assembly. He said the pension age can be increased to 60, but a decision will be taken only after holding talks with youth and service organisations, he said.

The number of pensioners is more than that of government employees. There are 5,30,000 government employees but pensioners are more than that. Fearing protest from many sides, the government will not elude as cowards. He said an amicable solution will be taken after discussing with the cabinet members.

Kerala is waiting for the announcement of pension age increase to 60 before Onam. actually our pension age was 58. It is brought down to 55 in 1967. Sri.Ommenchandy should rectify this anomaly before Onam. No body has the moral right to object. In tripura and west bengal it is 60.Plk show the courage and impliment a genuine and just demand
