Two injured in accident

KOCHI: An electrical accident at a hotel construction site left two workers with burn injuries on their faces. Another person who was injured was discharged after being administered first aid at a hospital. The accident had happened on the 12th floor of the new hotel coming up at Kundanoor junction. The two injured were Sudheesh N C, (42) from Thrissur and Aneesh K B, (32) from Chethikode, Ernakulam. According to M K Peter, Deputy Electrical Inspector, a screwdriver with which the electricians were testing the current in different phases slipped from their hands. This connected both the phases resulting in a flash of current of high voltage hurting the three workers there. The screw driver had melted because of the impact of the high voltage current. The accident had resulted in the disconnection of electricity supply. It was restored after excluding the floor where the accident had occurred.
