BJP, Left bat for Tharoor’s resignation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State president V Muraleedharan said on Tuesday that Shashi Tharoor should resign as MP, in the wake of the findings that his wife’s death was a murder. The Congress, which justified him and made him the Congress candidate by baffling the people, should apologise to the public. If he is not ready to resign, the party will think about holding agitation, demanding his resignation.

Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan also clamoured for the resignation of Tharoor MP. “If he is not ready to resign, he should be expelled from the party,” he said.

Meanwhile, CPI district council has demanded the arrest of Tharoor, citing the facts that could be pieced together to conclude that it is a case of murder. The party said that Tharoor who had been trying to create an impression that the death was natural had no right to continue as the people’s representative.
