Yuva Morcha march turns violent in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police used water cannons, teargas shells and force to disperse the Yuva Morcha activists after a Secretariat march taken out by them on Saturday turned violent. The activists were protesting seeking the resignation of Finance Minister K M Mani involved in the bar bribe scam.

The march started by 12 noon. The police stopped the march by lifting atop the barricades in front of the secretariat. The police used water cannons and tear gas shells when the activists tried to pull down the barricades shouting slogans seeking the arrest and resignation of Mani. The police also resorted to lathicharge to disperse the mob. More police reached the spot and removed them from the site.
