THRISSUR: There will be no action against College teacher Deepa Nishanthini of Thrissur Kerala Varma College in connection with her Fb posting over the beef festival held in the college recently.
Devaswom board came to this decision after its inquiry into the incident found that the teacher had not tried to create division among the students in the name of the beef festival. Moreover, there was proof that Deepa was inside the class when the beef festival was going on and hence the board felt that there was no need for any action against her.
Meanwhile, it was decided to continue prohibition of meat food in the canteen. “We have not told students to stop bringing meat food to the college. The college is not a temple but the tradition of lighting lamp is followed here,” the management said.
