THIRUVANTHPURAM: CPM Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan has criticised CPI leader C Divakaran, calling him loose-tongued for his recent statement that Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan will lead the LDF in the next Assembly election.
“Divakaran is a leader who speaks well. There is depthless in his talks; he also works well but he is in his second term in the Assembly this time. As per the style of functioning of the Communist, a candidate will not be given a seat for the third time.
Nevertheless, the final decision on who will be fielded will come only as the election gets nearer. CPI might not have decided on who should compete the election. We have also not thought about it. As that is the case, if I say Divakaran should continue again, how will people take that statement? They will definitely say I am loose-tongued,” he quipped.
