THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala government will go for appeal against a Vigilance court observation that prime facie there was evidence against Finance Minister K M Mani that he had taken bribe in order to facilitate the opening of 418 closed bars.
The appeal will be filed tomorrow (Friday) itself, seeking the cancellation of Vigilance court’s order.
The government will argue that it is not right to say there is prime facie evidence even before the charge sheet is filed. The government stand is that it was improper on the part of the court to have “turned investigation officer S P Sukesh’s factual report into the order.
There is nothing wrong in Vigilance Director Winson M Paul to have intervened in the probe and he did that according to the high court instruction, the government will submit in the court.
