THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI National Council member C Divakaran, MLA has said V S Achuthanandan will lead the Left party in Kerala in the next Assembly election also. Without VS, there is no Left Front in Kerala.
Divakaran’s remark has come at a time when efforts are on in the CPM camp to project Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan as the chief ministerial candidate.
“VS need not be replaced as situation doesn’t demand so. He has sound health to lead the party even now. VS is the leader who has upheld Left values boldly,” said Divakaran, who added that Pinarayi Vijayan is Pinarayi Vijayan though he is not holding any post now.
Divakaran said “expectations are that the RSP and Janata Dal will return to LDF soon after the Local Body Election. Also, the Left will never have any link with the Muslim League that represents a religion..”
