THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan has said that contempt of court case should be filed against KPCC president V M Sudheeran. He made this statement in the wake of Sudheeran criticising the court for accepting Vellapally Natesan’s plea for anticipatory bail.
A case was filed against Vellapally, on charges of igniting communal hatred through his controversial statement over Naushad’s death in Kozhikode manhole tragedy. The high court granted him anticipatory bail, while considering the case on Wednesday.
Vellapally said that Sudheeran’s stand showed his pettiness. Sudheeran had criticised the high court saying that the court made observations favourable to Natesan without examining the case diary. “It was a breach of power guaranteed by the constitution. The observation was untimely and erratic. While considering the case, the court only considered only plea of the accused,” Sudheeran had alleged.
