KOLKATA: CPM Politburo member and former party general secretary Prakash Karat has said that there is no confusion over the candidature of V S Achuthanandan in the Assembly election and a final decision in this regard will be taken soon.
“The representation of women in the party will be increased to 25 percent. The decision of the party is to give more membership to women. At the time of distribution of membership, steps will be taken according to the criteria required for this,” he said.
The communist leader said interior democracy of the party would be strengthened. “The aim is to wipe off Trinamool party from West Bengal. The Bengal unit and Politburo will discuss this issue. The party would also contemplate on joining hands with the Congress party to destroy Trinamool,” he added.
