Two girls drown in temple tank

PALAKKAD: Two school girls of a neighbourhood at Eruppe, near Kavalappara, in Shoranur drowned in a temple tank on Tuesday afternoon when they were trying to learn swimming. The tragic incident occurred at the tank of Eruppe Siva temple around 3 pm. The dead have been identified as Devika (10), daughter of Sreeraman Embranthiri of Pathiyedath Madom, and Arya (10), daughter of Pappalli Anil Kumar. According to the police, the girls met with the tragedy when they themselves started learning swimming when the trainer informed them that he would be late.
