SIVAGIRI: A research Centre will be started for those who want to study on the life and teachings of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the inaugural meet of the 83rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage.
The government has decided to establish a fellowship in the name of Sree Narayana Guru. The director of Sree Narayana Study Centre has been entrusted for it. The government is honoured to have included the life of Guru in the curriculum of students from class one to twelve. Steps are being taken to extend it in the coming years, he said.
Guru’s visions help the society. Guru made an attempt to create proper awareness in the society. He tried to unite people and not to divide them. His visions that people should not split in the name of caste and religion are still relevant. Those trying to split in the name of caste should be faced with the ethics of guru, he said.
