SIVAGIRI: The 83rd Sivagiril pilgrimage is underway at Sivagiri with religious fervor. The pilgrimage started at 7.30 am with the hoisting of the flag by Swamy Prakashananda, president of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangam, after various poojas held at the mutt.The flag was hoisted in the presence of Dharma Sangham trust general secretary Swamy Rithambarananda, Dharma Sangham trust treasures Swamt Paramananda, pilgrimage committee secretary Swamy Guru Prasad, Swamy Vishalananda, Swamy Amayananda, Swamy Shankarananda, Swamy Saradananda and other Sivagiri devotees.
The Sivagiri pilgrimage was inaugurated by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. Swamy Prakashananda presided over the function. Dharma Sangham trust former treasurer Swamy Amritananda lighted the lamp, Trust general secretary Swamy Rithambarananda welcomed the gathering and Swamy Vishalananda will deliver the vote of thanks.
