NEW DELHI: According to an Intelligence report, a 24-year-old woman hailing from Kozhikode has joined jihadist militant group ISIS. Besides her, three other Malayali youths also have joined the group.
The about developments were first reported by a national newspaper. It is Kozhikode native Hudha Raheem who has joined ISIS. The others are Kannur natives Muhammed Rishal, Muhammed Irfan Iqbal and Kozhikode native Riyazoor Rahman.
Another woman from Hyderabad is also said to have enrolled herself in the ISIS. She is 18-year-old Seba Farheen. Including the above, 23 Indians are currently working with the ISIS, out of which 17 are North Indians.
The report says, in the terror group, there are six persons from Karnataka, four persons from Telangana and Andhra, three from Tamil Nadu, four from Maharashtra and one each from Jammu Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.
Among the ISS Indians, six persons are reportedly killed while two returned to India. Those who have joined the ISIS are operating from Syria and Iraq. Police had, the other day, arrested three persons from Telangana for their alleged ISIS links. Information about the others was received from them.
