THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Deputy Speaker Palode Ravi has suggested that number Assembly days be increased. He was speaking at the face-to-face programme organised by Thiruvananthapuram press club. “Kerala should hold at least 100 days’ Assembly sessions in a year as recommended by National Speakers’ Conference and become the role model,” he said.
“Since the Assembly days are less, in the place of 10 submissions, about 50 submissions are made in a day. Because of this, submissions are not getting due importance. Many bills are guillotined as stalling Assembly sessions has become the order of the day. A wide political consensus is necessary if assembly transactions are to be carried forward in a proper way” he said.
