Thanka Anki procession held

SABARIMALA: The procession carrying the attire, Thanka Anki, set off to Sabarimala from the Sree Parthasarathy Temple at Aranmula Wednesday morning. Hundreds of devotees thronged the temple in the morning to witness the procession carrying the Thanka Anki in a motorised chariot modelled on a typical Kerala temple. An Ayyappa idol was decorated with the golden attire was kept for darshan on the temple premises till 7 am. The procession set off from Aranmula by 7.15 pm. The ceremonial procession will reach Pampa by Saturday forenoon and from there the Anki will be taken in a specially-designed wooden box to the holy hillock.
