Aranmula airport: Judicial probe sought

Kerala Congress (Thomas) has demanded a judicial inquiry into the controversy over the proposed airport project at Aranmula.  Kerala Congress working chairman V Surendran Pillai and secretary general George Sebastin alleged that Chief Minister Oomman Chandy was protecting the interests of the real estate mafia in the name of development.


They also alleged that the Chief Minister’s office was under the control of the real estate mafia.


The leaders noted that it was a serious fault on the part of the government to invite Prime Minister to inaugurate the airport, which is entangled in legal disputes. They said that they would move the court if immediate steps were not taken to  remove the suspicions on the Aranmula airport issue.
