Cops register case in hair cut

KANNUR: Thaliparamaba Police registered a case under Sec 354 IPC (criminal force to woman with intent to outage her modesty) in connection with the incident in which a girl's hair was cut while she was on way to college. Police said the incident happened when the girl, studying at the Sir Syed Institute of Technical Studies, attached to the Sir Syed College in Thaliparamba, was on the way to college. According to police, the long hair of the girl, daughter of a BSNL employee of this district, was cut by unidentified persons. She got into the bus at Keecheri and got off at Thaliparamba Bus Stand and started walking in a narrow road. Only after reaching classroom, she found the hair was cut partly. Since the bus stand was crowded, the incident might have happened in the narrow street only, police feel. Police suspect moral policing to be behind the incident and investigation was going on.
