Padmanabhaswamy temple treasure: Vault ‘A’ opened for evaluation


Thursday, July 5, 2012: The evaluation of the inventory at vault A of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple began on Thursday. The advocate commissioners appointed by the Thiruvananthapuram district court opened the sealed vault and later the committee took charge.


The entrance to vault A is through two doors made of iron and wood. Last time, the service of fireforce was sought due to low air circulation.


Among the Rs 1 lakh crore worth jewels and other assets found from the temple vaults, assets worth Rs 90,000 crore was found in vault A. There are special guidelines for inventory assessment too. After examining them, it will be kept back in iron boxes.
