PDP to organise rally at Kollam on July 14

KANNUR: PDP state unit general secretary Nizar Mather said that the party will organise a human right meet and rally at Kollam Peeranki ground on July 14 and demand the central and state governments to intervene immediately to save the life of PDP leader Abdul Nazar Madhani, who has been lodged in Karnataka jail. Talking to newsmen here, Nizar Mather said Madhani had partially lost his eyesight due to diabetes and was ailing from ulcer and heart disease.

But still he was being denied bail from Karnataka Jail, he added. As the intelligence department had passed a cautious report about the life of Madhani, PDP demanded that central and state governments should intervene immediately to save the life of him, he said. Nizar alleged that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had not considered the demands of PDP to send a high level team to Karnataka to examine the health conditions of Madhani, though he had intervened in all the human rights issues in Kerala on humanitarian grounds
