There’s a limit to waiting for ministers!

Two Ministers kept several customers waiting for more than an hour after they failed to arrive on time to inaugurate the renovated ‘Haritha’ vegetable supermarket of the Kerala State Horticultural Products Development Corporation (Horticorp) in the city. The inauguration of the renovated supermarket and the first Horticorp ‘Honey Parlour’ was fixed for 9.30 am at Pazhavangadi. Agriculture Minister K P Mohanan was to inaugurate the market and Health Minister and local MLA V S Sivakumar, the parlour.

By 9.15 am, the officials were ready at the venue and the ribbons were in place at the entrances of the market and the parlour. Shortly afterwards, customers also began arriving. Many got to know about the function only after reaching the market. They were asked to wait, as the Ministers were expected to arrive soon.

As time dragged on, many of the customers started getting restless, and one elderly man left. Then, by 10.40 am, the organisers concluded that the Ministers were not going to put in an appearance. Horticorp chairman Lal Varghese Kalpakavadi inaugurated both facilities and the waiting customers were allowed in.

‘Honey Parlour’

This is Horticorp’s first ‘Honey Parlour’ in the State. The Horticorp has a Honey Division with ten master breeders across the State.

The Honey Parlour has on sale honey products of the Horticorp as well as honey drinks such as Honey Cola, Honey-Pineapple, Honey-Mango and Honey-Apple, Horticorp managing director Manoj Kurup said.
