VS expressed disagreement at State Committee

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI (M) veteran V.S. Achuthanandan expressed his disagreement with the findings of resolution by the party’s Central Committee (CC), at the State Committee on Tuesday.

The CC had rejected Achuthanandan’s claim that issues relating to the ideological deviations are prevalent in CPI (M) Kerala unit. An irate Achuthanandan asked the state committee that if alliance with religious fundamentalists at the time of election and the controversy over accepting ADB loans are not deviation from party’s ideology, then what they are.

As per CPI (M)'s constitution, the decisions reported to a lower committee by a higher one should not be opposed. But Achuthanandan on Tuesday questioned the CC’s resolution.

Following this, the State Committee criticized V.S. Achuthanandan harshly. CPI (M) General Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan also expressed displeasure. But no one has demanded to take disciplinary action against him.

The CC had criticized that his visit to T.P. Chandrasekharan's home on the day of the crucial Neyyattinkara Assembly by-poll (June 2) had caused much damage to the party. The resolution directs Achuthanandan to admit his faults before the media.
