NEW DELHI: SAI Director General Injeti Srinivas has said that today’s incident at the centre wherein four students made suicide attempt is the biggest tragedy in its history. He said the unfortunate incident had shocked him.
“The reasons that led them to take this drastic step will be examined. As part of this, statements of all including the seniors will be taken. The dying declaration of a student has been taken by the Magistrate and the statements of others have been taken by the sub-judicial magistrate,” he said.
He said the best treatment would be provided to students admitted in hospital. “ Till date I have not got any complaint about the Alappuzha centre. Checks will be conducted for any flaw. If the officials have any role in the incident, strong action will be taken against them. According to Union sports Minister’s instruction, I will go to Kerala and try my level best to visit the students in Alappuzha hospital, today itself,” he said.
