KOCHI: Petronet CEO A K Balyan has said that the Kochi LNG scheme was running at a loss of Rs 400 crore. “The scheme has been facing a great challenge in acquiring land and laying pipelines. To implement the scheme, the government should show more interest and will power,” he said at a press conference.
He opined that Kerala’s political leaders should forget politics when it comes to development. “The scheme which kicked off simultaneously in Gujarat has already started functioning. But in Kerala, even the pipelines were not able to be laid. This is a total neglect. Though the government has been repeatedly saying that the project will be implemented, no follow-up is there. If the government shows sincerity, the scheme can be implemented within seven months. People is anxious about the project and it is the responsibility of the government to find a solution to it…,” Balyan said.
