Probe in bar bribe case to be completed by May 31

THIRUVANANTHAPURAML: The vigilance Tuesday informed the court that the probe in the bar bribe case will be completed by May 31. The investigation is in the final phase. An examination on the disc and the lie detector test should be held again. The investigation is progressing and so far, the statements of 300 witnesses have been recorded, the vigilance said.  

Meantime, the vigilance court today rejected the demand of Biju Ramesh, bar association working president, seeking the investigation progress of the case. He said that his statement against Excise Minister K Babu would be recorded by the vigilance tomorrow.

Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan alleged that the accused are not appearing for the lie detector test due to guiltiness.
