THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Ooommen Chandy has said that the car used by Social welfare department minister M K Muneer belongs to a party member. There is no harm in ministers using private vehicles.
The chief minister was replying to media persons’ question regarding a recent incident in which Minister’s vehicle that appeared like a State car knocked to death a teacher.
“If there is beacon light and red board on a car, one should not misunderstand it as a state car. Expect the guest houses in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam, others have only two or three government vehicles. It is in this circumstance, one will have to use private vehicle. It is not wrong,” he said.
Regarding the Malabar cement, he said the law would take its own course. “There will be legal follow-up in the case. I don’t see politics in such cases,” he added.
