Tuesday 17 May 2011: Sebastian Paul, former Member of Parliament and LDF backed independent from the Ernakulam Assembly constituency attributed huge decline in party votes as the reason for his huge failure. Sebastian Paul urged the CPM leadership to look into the matter and initiate rectification steps.
“All the individual votes which I had calculated after the campaigning got polled. According to the party sources 38,000 votes has been identified as sure party votes. Only 28,000 votes where pulled against my name which includes personal votes also.
There has been a leakage of 15,000 votes. The constituency has witnessed tough fights under different circumstances earlier also. Never has been a huge dent as this happened” Sebastian Paul said
