Saturday 21 May 2011: The NCP has refuted reports that it would support the UDF government in order to continue in power. NCP State unit president A.C. Shanmughadas said that there was no question of NCP’s two MLAs backing the Oommen Chandy government to ensure a comfortable majority for the UDF front in the Assembly. “Our MLAs will not give political support to the government,” Shanmughadas said.
He added that the party MLAs would not budge from their declared political position since it was taken by the NCP Central leadership.
