KB Ganesh Kumar now handling Forest instead of tourism Saturday, May21, 2011: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was forced to budge once again to the pressure exerted by the allies, declaring a re-allotment of portfolios to KB Ganesh Kumar, Kerala Congress (B) representative in the ministry. Ganesh Kumar has been given forest and environment instead of tourism, which was allotted to him earlier. Ganesh Kumar would also be in charge of sports and cinema.
R Balakrishna Pillai, KC (B) supremo who is out in parole had met Oommen Chandy, CM in person and complained about the unhappiness over providing a rather unimportant ministry like tourism. Ganesh Kumar too had expressed his displeasure over handling tourism. This is understood to have forced the CM to have a re-think.
