Sunday, May 22, 2011: The Kerala State film awards were announced by Minister KB Ganesh Kumar in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Film ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ which kept the pride of Kerala high during the national awards, has been adjudged the best film.
While Salim Kumar bagged the award for the best actor for his stunning performance in the film. Kavya Madhavan walked away with the best actress award for her performance in Gaddama . Shyama Prasad won the best director award for the film ‘Electra’.
Biju Menon was selected as the second best actor (TD Dasan Standard 6 B) and Mamta Mohandas (Kadha Thudarunnu) the second best actress. Suraj Venjaramoodu got picked as the best comedian. Makara Manju by Lenin Rajendran was ad-judged as the second best movie. The award for the most popular movie was bagged by Pranchiyettan and the Saint .
M Jayachandran became the best musical director for Karayileku oru Kadal Dooram . Hariharan walked away with the best singer award, while the best female singer award went to Rajalakshmi.
