Lottery Case M V Jayaraj lashes out at Chithambaram

Tuesday, May 24, 2011: CPM state panel member MV Jayarajan today came down heavily on Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram in connection with the Inter State lottery case. Speaking to the reporters here on Tuesday, CPM leader opined that Chidambaram must step down from his post since a CBI probe has been ordered into the lottery case.
Jayarajan was responding to the Kerala High Court directive for a CBI probe into the case. The Division Bench comprising Justices J Chelameswar and PR Ramachandra Menon directed CBI probe into alleged irregularities involved in the sale of inter-state lottery in the State.
Congress leader VD Satheesan MLA had on March 1 filed a plea in Kerala High Court demanding CBI probe into the lottery case. In the plea, it is stated that State Government has not taken any action even though Vigilance had found irregularities in the case.
