Former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan today came down heavily on the Centre in connection with the Inter state lottery case. Speaking to the reporters here on Tuesday, VS added that the Union Home minister P Chidambaram must step down his post since a CBI probe has been ordered into the lottery case.
Welcoming the Kerala High Court’s order directing a CBI probe into lottery case, VS opined that the Centre as well as the Congress party had taken a favourable stand in the case for supporting the lottery mafias in the State.
The Division Bench comprising Justices J Chelameswar and PR Ramachandra Menon directed CBI probe into alleged irregularities involved in the sale of inter-state lottery in the State.
Congress leader VD Satheesan MLA had on March 1 filed a plea in Kerala High Court demanding CBI probe into the lottery case. In the plea, it is stated that State Government has not taken any action even though Vigilance had found irregularities in the case.
