Rajnikant Shifted to ICU

Thursday, May 19, 2011: Showing positive response to the treatment which tackles his chest congestion coupled with kidney and liver related problems superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit.

This has been done to improve his breathing pattern and that the actor was showing positive response to treatment.

A multi-disciplinary team of doctors is busy, closely watching his vital parameters to assess benefits from multi-pronged treatment strategies, the hospital bulletin said. After the dialysis his kidney functions have been restored.

Meanwhile fans in Tamilnadu and also in Andhra have started conducting prayers for their idol’s speedy recovery. Some fans have resorted to penance and vows. A fan ate cooked rice from the floor of the temple. The Raghavendra ((favorites deity) temple in Chennai is thronged by fans offering special archanas for the recovery.

The actor’s brother Sathyanarayana was quoted by the media as saying that the heavy smoking and drinking habits had taken toll of his brother’s health and added that it was not the time to go in for causes and look forward to his comeback.
