Thursday, May 26, 2011: The Supreme Court has quashed the land allotment to former India skipper Sourav Ganguly by West Bengal Government in 2000 and has asked him to surrender the 63.04 ‘katha’ land.A Bench comprising of Justices GS Singhvi and AK Ganguly has told Ganguly to comply with the order in two weeks.
Last Thursday, the Supreme Court had questioned the way a Salt Lake plot was allotted to the cricketer to set up a school and also slammed the state government for sending officials to the his residence to get the paperwork for the land transfer done.
