Thursday, May 26, 2011: The Supreme Court has quashed the land allotment to former India skipper Sourav Ganguly by West Bengal Government in 2000 and has asked him to surrender the 63.04 ‘katha’ land.
A Bench comprising of Justices GS Singhvi and AK Ganguly has told Ganguly to comply with the order in two weeks.
Last Thursday, the Supreme Court had questioned the way a Salt Lake plot was allotted to the cricketer to set up a school and also slammed the state government for sending officials to the his residence to get the paperwork for the land transfer done.
