Kochi, Friday, August 26, 2011: The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the HC verdict which cancelled the entrance examination conducted by self-financing managements. The Court directed to proceed with the admissions and complete the same within August 31.
The Supreme Court said so while considering a petition field by self financing management association.
The Kerala High Court declared the entrance examination conducted by 11 private medical colleges as null and void and asked the state government to take over all the seats for making fresh admissions.
Justice Antony Dominic delivered the judgment after a student filed a petition alleging that the private college managements flouted the rules.
According to the rules, 50 percent of the seats every year could be filled up by the private managements after conducting their own entrance examination.
