Truckers to go on strike from midnight


MUMBAI: Truckers from four States and Puducherry, affiliated to the All-India Motor Trade Congress, will go on an indefinite strike from midnight Thursday to press for their demands, the Bombay Goods Transport Association has said.

Truckers of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra and the Union Territory have decided to stop operations from midnight, Bombay Goods Transport Association general secretary Sunil Kale said.


However, the strike would not hit the supply of essential items, including vegetables, milk and medicines.
