CPM flays media for spreading canards

KOZHIKODE: The CPI (M) in Kerala blamed a section of media for publishing baseless news linking it in the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan. Talking to newspersons here, party state secretariat member Elamaram Kareem said 'fairy tale' like stories purportedly given by a hardcore criminal who was an accused in the case were being carried/telecast by a section of the media, including visual, in the state.

The press and the electronic media had published or telecast statements given by accused T K Rejish naming a CPI (M) leader responsible for the murder whereas the party had no association with the former. He said it appeared that Rejish, who was produced in the court on Friday, was taken into custody in Maharashtra many days ago and statement was taken as per a pre-planned script prepared on the behest of the Congress-led United Democratic Front Government and Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran to tarnish the party.
