Manambur Suresh receives London Malayala Sahithyavedi award


LONDON: The bi-annual awards of London Malayala Sahithyavedi for the sincere contribution of people working in the field of art, culture and literature were given to Manambur Suresh and Philip Abraham. This year`s award winners were selected from the field of journalism.  


Internationally renowned author, academic and former visiting fellow of Oxford, Manchester and Cambridge universities Dr K Ravi Raman (University of London) presented London Malayala Sahithyavedi award to Manambur Suresh. Actor Mukundan Menon presented award to Philip Abraham. 
    
Raji Nanthicattu co-ordinator of London Malayala Sahithyavedi introduced the events details and welcomed the guests, Novelist Kaaroor Soman chaired and inaugurated the event.


Manambur Suresh is the London correspondent of Kerala Kaumudi newspaper and is in charge of Kaumudi Europe online. He has been writing on literature, art, culture and politics for over thirty five years. He had contributed to Financial Times (London) magazine and community radio in London.  


Philip Abraham is the editor and publisher of Kerala Link free monthly magazine which he started 16 years ago. He is one of the founder members of Kerala Business forum and elected this month to the Loughton Town Council.


Sreekumar`s Sarod with thabala of Manoj Siva was the musical feast of the event.  Sasi S Kulamada and Vakkom G Sureshkumar recited poems, Anila Abraham, Joy and Beena Pushkas rendered favourite film hits. Parvatheepuram Meera addressed the meeting and Muralee Mukundan thanked the awardees, chief guests and all the people who made the event an enjoyable success.
