HC orders formation of SIT to probe into Indu’s death


Thursday, July 26, 2012: The Kerala High Court on Thursday has ordered the formation of a special investigation team which is to be headed by an officer not under the rank of DIG to probe into the death of Indu, (a research scholar at the National Institute of Technology).


The Court’s decision came on the petition submitted by Indu’s father stating the inadequacy of Crime Branch’s investigation.


The team has to be formed within three weeks and the report regarding the development of the investigation has to be submitted within a span of three months.


Indu’s body was fished out from the Periyar river in Aluva on April 28th. The body was found afloat at Kandamthuruth, Chengamanad, nearly eight km away from the Aluva railway bridge.
