Murder of woman: Oppn walks out of assembly


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition LDF walked out of the assembly after permission was denied for the adjournment motion seeking discussion on the death of a woman at Meenchanda in Kozhikode.  The woman was hacked to death by a burglar, who intruded into her house. K K Lathika, who moved the motion, said atrocities towards women are increasing.


Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan informed that after the UDF assumed charge, almost 14,445 criminal cases have been registered in attacks towards women. 1675 cases have been registered in attacks towards children. The minister said the police are investigating the murder of the woman in Kozhikode. When the speaker denied permission for the motion following minister’s reply, the opposition walked out of the assembly.
