Scribe attack case: CBI files first chargesheet

Thursday, July 5, 2012: In connection with the murder attempt on media person VB Unnithan, the CBI filed the first charge sheet at the Ernakulam chief judicial magistrate court.


The second charge sheet stating the role of high officials’ including DIG S Sreejith will be filed at the earliest. Assailants tried to murder Unnithan on April 16, 2011 in Sasthamcotta.


The state govt had issued a directive last July to hand over the case to the CBI and in November, the CBI took charge of the case. In January 2012, the CBI took possession of the case diary and began investigation.
