KPCC vice president A K Mani resigns

IDUKKI: Congress leader A K Mani resigned his KPCC vice-president post. He resigned taking over the responsibility of the defeat in Idukki in the Lok Sabha polls. Some differences of opinion broke out in the party after the defeat of Dean Kuriakose, the congress candidate of Idukki.

Congress leader E M Agasthy had opined the rout was due to the stand of former MP P T Thomas. However, Kuriakose and the congress leadership in Idukki alleged that there was an attempt under Agasthy’s leadership to defeat Dean.

Soon after the results were out, Idukki DCC president Roy K Pulose’ effigy was burnt.
