THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Left Front has retained the Attipra ward of the city corporation in the by election held yesterday. Sobha Sivadath of the CPM won by a majority of 913 votes. C Sreekala of the UDF has been pushed to the third position and BJP to the second place. When Sreekala obtained 770 votes Subhakumari of the AAP got only 83 votes.
Majority for the Left Front in the corporation has touched 51 with the win in Attipra. Death of former councilor M S Sangeetha had brought down the LDF tally to 50 in the 100-member sabha. The LDF now has 41 members for CPM , seven for CPI, two for RSP, and one for Congress (S).
