Six suspects in AP murder case held in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six persons from Andhra Pradesh, suspected to be involved in the murder of an ex-Naxal in Nalgonda, were taken into custody from their hide out in the city Tuesday.

City Police Commissioner H Venkatesh told newspersons here that one factory-made pistol, two bullets and Rs 1.25 lakh in cash were seized from them.

As per the preliminary interrogation, they reached the state capital by bus from Hyderabad after committing the crime and checked in a local lodge, he added.

He said two of the arrested persons had naxalite roots. One of them had surrendered before the authorities in 2008 and the other one was absconding as per the police record.

Police identified the arrested persons as Sumesh, Somayya, Jalesh, Ratheesh, Kumaraswami and Ajesh.

They would be produced before the court and the information would be conveyed to the Andhra Police.
