Aadhar Software glitch: Students in a fix

KOCHI: Disruption in Aadhar services over the past several weeks due to technical glitch has been giving troubling times for students.
Currently, there is no other way to correct the errors in Aadhar card. Since admission procedures for higher studies are going on, the Aadhar card is inevitable for many official/academic procedures.
Information in Aadhar will have to be entered at various forms for admissions to classes from the first standard to the college level.
In the admission software of the Education department, the students will have to enter their Aadhar number to gain admission.
This is to make sure that the students have not gained admission to some other courses. Moreover, Adhaar card is necessary to get scholarships available from Plus One Classes to Post Graduation courses.
The glitch has occurred in Enrolment Client Multi-platform (ECMP) usually used in Aadhar Service centres.
Currently the service centres are not able to issue new Aadhar cards, make corrections or biometric updates.
ECMP is a facility that allows one to get his details in Aadhar corrected once his finger marks are given.
But this software went haywire about three weeks ago. The software was updated on April 24 and the error has been showing since.
Once corrections are made, it will get added to the server after 90 days. Thus, even if the server error is rectified, the above delay will affect the admission of students.
