Turning point in gold smuggling case, police identifies person who bought gold

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a crucial turning point on the incident of gold smuggling via international airport in the capital city. The person who bought gold from Biju Manohar, the main accused, has been identified. The DRI has identified Hakeem, owning a jewellery shop in the city. Hakeem, a native of Malappuram and his aides are absconding. Gold worth crore was handed over to Hakeem many times. Meantime, customs officials are questioned against as part of investigating their role in the incident. Gold of 25 kilograms worth 8 crore was smuggled via the international airport in the capital city on May 12.
