KOCHI: Drug mafia’s new strategy came into light after a Malappuram native was caught by the Excise with the possession of Hashish. Drug peddlers now use the attires of online delivery boys, thereby evading the police and other forces.
The police have intensified the search on drugs with the help of IT cell, after Perinathalmanna native Nikesh was arrested in a case for trading drugs.
Meanwhile, three people are in hiding for selling new gen drugs like Hashish, MDMA, LSD, etc. They are alibis of the arrested Nikesh. The police have received the names of the details of these people and everything points towards an arrest. A juice merchant on Goa is the prime culprit. Nikesh used to sell drugs under the disguise of online marketing. The drug sales were carried out on a fixed commission. His bank account is under close watch.
The drugs are kept at unoccupied hostel rooms that are rented out illegally. There were earlier instances of such drug trades that were caught by the police and excise.
