C Divakaran attacks CPM, alleges party showed discrimination against CPI ministers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior CPI leader and former minister C Divakaran has come down heavily on Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac and Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman V S Achuthanandan.
During the tenure of V S Achuthanandan government, Thomas Isaac used to hold files for long without any reason.
“I have said in his face that Finance Minister doesn’t have horns. Finance department doesn’t have any authority over other departments,” he said at a function in Thiruvananthapuram.
Divakaran also alleged that the government was interrupting the functioning of Administrative Reforms Commission headed by Achuthanandan.
“I used to ask in the Assembly what they are doing. During the time of Achuthanandan, CPM showed strong discrimination against CPI ministers. If CPI ministers say a thing, they will contradict it..” he said.
However, later Divakaran denied the reports that he had slammed Isaac and Achuthanandan. He said he only pointed out certain mistakes of officials under them.

“I was just pointing out some flaws in the functioning of the finance department during the time of the previous government. It’s natural for a coalition government to have arguments…I didn't criticise Isaac or VS”
